Choosing a Shopware Package: Starter, Move, Scale

Starter, Move or Scale – which 21Days Shopware package fits you? An honest decision guide with prices, real scenarios and a comparison table.

You want to launch or migrate to Shopware – but first you want to know exactly what you get and what it costs. That's why 21Days offers three clear fixed-price packages: Starter, Move and Scale. No "we'll figure it out during the project", no weeks of quote ping-pong. This guide walks you honestly through all three – including the cases where a package is not the right choice.

Read down to the decision tree below. It answers the question in under two minutes.

Starter: New shop in 14 days – €7,500 net

Who it's for: You're going online for the first time, or replacing a website builder (Wix, Jimdo, an old WordPress). You have a clear product range, you need a clean, sales-ready shop fast – and no special detours at every corner.

What's included (feature level):

  • Full Shopware setup and configuration on a clean foundation
  • Near-standard design based on a proven theme, adapted to your brand (logo, colours, typography)
  • Core functions: categories, product structure, cart, checkout, payment methods, shipping rules
  • Legal essentials wired in (imprint, privacy, terms – texts from you)
  • Mobile-optimised, go-live included

Example project: A coffee roaster currently sells only over the counter and via an Instagram link. In 14 days we set up a shop with 30 coffees, three grind variants and a subscription-ready checkout. Design close to standard, but built around their imagery. Two weeks later the first online sale lands.

Price: €7,500 net, fixed.

When Starter does NOT fit: The moment you need deep custom logic – customer-specific pricing, complex product configurators, an ERP connection or unusual checkout flows. Starter is deliberately near-standard. If you want "just one little thing" customised here, you'll end up paying twice. Go straight to Scale instead.

Move: Migration in 21 days – €17,500 net

Who it's for: You already have a shop – on ePages, Shopify, WooCommerce or an old Shopware version – and you want a clean move to current Shopware without losing rankings or existing customers.

What's included (feature level):

  • Migration of your category structure
  • Transfer of up to 500 products incl. variants
  • Customer migration, where technically possible from the old system
  • SEO redirects from old to new URLs – so your Google ranking survives the move
  • Full Shopware setup as in Starter, plus go-live

Example project: A housewares retailer sits on an end-of-life ePages shop with 380 products and several years of SEO history. In 21 days we migrate categories, products including size/colour variants and customer accounts, and build a clean redirect map. On go-live day organic traffic stays stable – no ranking crash.

Price: €17,500 net, fixed.

When Move does NOT fit: If your catalogue is well above 500 products, if product data arrives chaotic and inconsistent from many sources, or if the migration is intertwined with an ERP/PIM project. That's no longer a standard Move – it's a custom project, so Scale.

Scale: Custom projects – from €30,000 net

Who it's for: You have requirements no standard package covers. B2B with tiered pricing and approval workflows, an ERP or PIM connection, several shops under one roof (multistore), interfaces to third-party systems, or real custom development.

What's included (feature level):

  • B2B features: customer-specific pricing, quotes, order approvals, company accounts
  • ERP connection (inventory, stock levels, order flow)
  • PIM integration for clean, central product data management
  • Interfaces/APIs to third-party systems (payment, logistics, CRM, marketplaces)
  • Multistore – multiple brands, countries or languages from one instance
  • Custom development for anything that genuinely has to be unique

Example project: A B2B wholesaler supplies resellers on individual terms. He needs customer-specific price lists, an ERP connection for live stock, and a second store for direct-to-consumer sales. That's a multi-month project with a concept phase, development and testing – exactly what Scale is for.

Price: from €30,000 net, scoped individually.

When Scale does NOT fit: If you "just" need a clean standard shop. You'd burn budget on flexibility you never use. Standard needs belong in Starter or Move.

The decision framework (if-then)

Work top to bottom – the first matching rule wins:

  1. Do you need B2B, ERP, PIM, multistore, interfaces or real custom development? Scale. No matter how small the catalogue – custom logic belongs here.
  2. Do you have an existing shop to migrate (up to 500 products, keep customers + SEO)? Move.
  3. Starting fresh, with a clear range and near-standard needs? Starter.
  4. Existing shop, but over 500 products or chaotic data? → Not a standard Move → Scale (or Move as a first step, see below).
  5. New, but already picturing custom logic? → Not Starter → Scale.

Short formula: New + standard = Starter. Migration + standard = Move. Custom (new or migration) = Scale.

Growth paths: start small, grow big

You don't have to book Scale on day one. A proven route:

  • Starter → Scale: Go live and sell fast first, then – once revenue and processes justify it – add ERP, B2B or multistore as an expansion stage. The foundation from Starter stays.
  • Move → Scale: Migrate cleanly and ranking-safely first, so operations and traffic are stable. Then tackle the custom topics (interfaces, PIM, B2B) in a second step – without go-live time pressure.

The advantage: every package builds on clean Shopware standard. You throw nothing away as you grow.

FAQ

Yes. Both build on clean Shopware standard. As revenue or requirements grow, we add custom expansion stages without starting from zero.
